Belly Button
Black rimmed eyesAnd tumbling curls
She is tugging at her skin
Trying to tear the fat out
Purging it from her body
So she can lift her clothes
Peel the layers away
Until she’s laces of bones and flesh
Twisting in bright lights
Cherry lips
And sinful curves
Enticing
And pleading for praise
Pinching inches of her thighs
Clenching her breasts together
Breathing heavy in her parades
Yet when it’s all stripped free
I can still see the remnants of her infancy
Pock marked in the center of her body
She tries to adorn it with jewelry,
But all that is seen
Is somebodies
Baby
Girl.
