BREAKABLE PROMISES

Can one stop a leave falling?
Can one stop a rose paling?
Can one stop a spring fleeting?
Can one stop the things changing?

In this world, everything’s like a dream,
We are only changing shadows of the time.
Can we be sure of things lasting
To promise each other, darling?

“Till sun rises,
Till moon rises,
We’ll never depart
Till death do us part.”
