Buddy Love

Buddy Love

I wasn’t looking for that kind of love
It just kind of found it’s way to me
It was a four legged, tail waggin
Tongue hangin face lickin
Kind of love
Just looking for a two legged friend
Just looking for a place to call home
Everybody needs a little buddy love

He was just an easy going
Loving kind of dog
Orange spots and all
What a dalmatian he was
Waggin his tail wherever he’d go
Spreading his love to everyone
Walking side by side
Helping me to see
All the beauty
That’s never seen
Showing me love
When nobody else would
Because everybody needs
A little Buddy love

And oh boy what an appetite he had
Wood chips, paper clips,
Card board and much more
And I’ll never forget the way
He stuck his nose through the door
Letting me know he was ready to go
Ready to spread his love to everyone
Waggin his tail as happy as could be

Because he was just an easy going
Loving kind of dog
Orange spots and all
What a dalmatian he was
Waggin his tail wherever he’d go
Spreading his love to everyone
Walking side by side
Helping me to see all the beauty
That’s never seen
showing me love
When nobody else would
Because everybody needs
A little Buddy love

And when he died I cried
But people said to me
Why are you so broken up
After all he’s just a dog
And I said to them
Because he was my best bud
He never once hurt me or anyone
He always listened to what I had to say
He never once turned his back on me
Now that sounds like a true friend to me

He was just an easy going
Loving kind of dog
Orange spots and all
What a dalmatian he was
Waggin his tail wherever he’d go
Spreading his love to everyone
Walking side by side
Helping me to see all the beauty
That’s never seen
showing me love
When nobody else would
And if there’s a heaven for dogs
I know he’s looking down on me
Because everyone needs
A little Buddy love
