The Creek Of Mystery
The Creek of Mystery
It’s where the sun shines through the tall pines
It’s where I go to find my peace of mind
It’s where I learned how to skip stones
Where I broke a few of my bones
Where I learned how to make make bird calls
Sittin by the water falls
It’s a special place to be
Down at the creek of mystery
Where you never know
How the wind’s gonna blow
How the water’s gonna flow
But you just might find
Something made of gold
Something to behold
Something just for you
When you’re feeling blue
But they won’t be found
If you don’t take the time
To look around
Down at the creek of mystery
It’s where I did all my fishin
Where I did all my wishin
Where I found my best friend Lucky
He was just a good ole boardie collie
Looking for a place to call his home
He gave my face some dog lickin love
And when I saw those sad puppy eyes
He was on his way home with me
It’s a special place to be
Down at the creek of mystery
Where you never know
How the wind’s gonna blow
How the water’s gonna flow
But you just might find
Something made of gold
Something to behold
Something just for you
When you’re feeling blue
But they won’t be found
If you don’t take the time to look around
Down at the creek of mystery
It’s where I wrote my first song
About all the things I done wrong
And the few things I done right
Like when I fell in love with you
When I said I do
Teaching our son how to be a man
How to stand up for what he believes in
How to treat his lady with some dignity
It’s a special place to be
Down at the creek of mystery
Where you never know
How the wind’s gonna blow
How the water’s gonna flow
But you just might find
Something made of gold
Something to behold
Something just for you
When you’re feeling blue
But they won’t be found
If you don’t take the time
To look around
So head on down
To the creek of mystery
It’s where the sun shines through the tall pines
It’s where I go to find my peace of mind
It’s where I learned how to skip stones
Where I broke a few of my bones
