Canadian Gothic

By Joane Trojansek

Equal dreams of equal size
For equal kings in equal wise
Force of hockey in their sights
Flood of network television in their brights
The farmer's bible
Quotes the drover's catalog
And the native tribal
Computer analog
The past supports the present
And the present prevents the past
In an expert record of trend
Down the road of the oily blast
The signal alerting home
To the trip of the flag
Brings the poet his poem
And the editor his rag
