Daddy\'s Sunshine
It's been too many years since our last hug
No memories of your scent
Your voice is past tense
I see you in the mirror
Not as you were
A feminine painting of your genes
Memories are vague
Pictures are all I have
Curiosity of what would've been
If you were still here to hold my hand
Your unconditional love stays in my heart
Until my very last day I'll miss you unconditionally
There are truly no words to explain
It's been too many years since our last hug
No memories of your scent
Your voice is past tense
I see you in the mirror
Not as you were
A feminine painting of your genes
Memories are vague
Pictures are all I have
Curiosity of what would've been
If you were still here to hold my hand
Your unconditional love stays in my heart
Until my very last day I'll miss you unconditionally
There are truly no words to explain
It's been too many years since our last hug

This Poems Story
My father passed away 30 years ago. I grew up always wondering what life would have been if he had been alive. As I get older I realize I don\'t remember much of him. I do know he loved me dearly and a few of his last words were singing You Are My Sunshine. Telling his nurse to let me know I\'ll always be his Sunshine.
