Desperate Prayer
Lord above, I'm feeling lost and so I kneel to pray.
I close my eyes and fold my hands but don't know what to say.
Within the silence I begin to seek deep in my soul.
I have unanswered questions that have left a blackened hole.
Inside this hole I am too blind to see your guiding light.
And so I ask of you to grant to me your blessed sight.
Offer me your hand to hold and guide me as I walk.
When I cannot find the words, encourage me to talk.
Embrace me deep within your arms as I make my confession.
Dry my tears and heal my heart as I speak of my depression.
In the name of your loving son, I hope you hear my plea.
And so I end, with an Amen, my prayer from bended knee.

I recently found myself lost with no help from anyone, and so, being accepted into a Christian rescue mission after being left homeless, I wrote this poem seeking spiritual guidance.
