Diana’s Deceptve Egyptian Eyeliner

When you’re black and blue
And not seeing true
She took a baseball bat to the glass mezzanine
The open wounds are a hospital visit at least, it’s so obscene
Friends that saw the bites, said “get your head on straight”
“This woman’s body's bait”
But when you first met
She wasn’t a threat
She was a sniff sticker
You couldn’t get her clothes off quicker
Then she drugged the casserole she cooked you for dinner
And sent the pictures of you to your office printer
She brought out the electrical cords
And showed you her favorite broad sword
Diana’s Deceptive Egyptian Eyeliner
Couldn’t have made you more blinder
When you first met she said everything right
And stayed over every night
Fucked you in her sleep
Made you keep the dirty sheets
So sex with her was the first thing you smell
And the things she has next for you to dwell
Then the random texts from anonymous numbers
Said they saw you with others
The random knocks on your door at night
She says "you have a body I want to bite”
When she stays over you keep 911 ready
Never knowing if you want to run or marry
Diana’s Deceptive Egyptian Eyeliner
When I look into it, I couldn’t be crazier
Diana’s Deceptive Egyptian Eyeliner
My friends say "I couldn't be more blinder"
Of Diana’s Deceptive Egyptian Eyeliner

So many strong points to this poem! I love how your vivid, surreal, and darkly humorous imagery depicts the descent into a dangerously toxic relationship. Overall I feel like this poem falls into confessional or punk poetry. Nice rhyme scheme (not forced), and the rhythm is jagged, almost breathless, which seems to match the speaker’s unraveling psyche.
