Dreams of Saudade
As I lay here calm and ready to rest,My love’s in the curtains getting undressed.
The window is open and the autumn air is near,
She hushes my worries by calling me dear.
I hear her faintly as she stumbles on over
The bottles downstairs tell on us, we ain’t sober.
The bed tips with the weight of our guilt,
This sinful relationship that we both built.
I tell her it’s wrong even if I feel it’s right,
I won’t deny our wants, but instead our needs tonight.
The shadows curl over her curved frame,
The heat now in my cheeks, she is to blame.
My hands pulse with the need to explore,
I want something from her, but shouldn’t ask for more.
She gives me a gaze that tells me she knows,
So easily she made my cover be blown.
She reaches first and caresses my shoulder,
I’m stuck in her grasp as if she was a boulder.
Staring into the eyes of my soon to be vulture,
I now know with her, I am no longer unsure.
She places her lips on mine and It feels so familiar,
However no situation of mine is anywhere close to similar.
And as we lay there together all cozy you see,
I realized her hands might be cold, but they are the warmest to ever hold me.

I tend to find myself most comfortable around women and consider them to be the only people I’ll ever let hold me. However I do feel very guilty for loving women as a woman, so when I have a night where all of that guilt doesn’t matter and I can breathe with her, I cherish it.
