A Theory of Death and Rebirth

When we die, we release the gases
held in our lungs the breath that once
carried our voice. Our fluids drain, the
blood and plasma that once pulsed
with life: We become still.

Buried in Earth: our bodies
decompose, becoming soil, feeding roots,
forming seeds,

Burned by Fire: our ashes rise,

floating in the air, dust dancing with the wind.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

But dust is not the endi It's the beginning.

From dust, life grows,

From ash, the air carries memory.

From our elements, something new is born.

We are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.
and in death, we dissolve back into those
states.

We become part of the cycle again.
