Everythings Sing of Thee, O Lady

Everything Sings of Thee O Lady!

The whiteness of the lily
Is but the darkened shape of
Thy maidenhood.

The rose in all its fairness
Is but the barest hint of
Thy loveliness.

For thee wast crafted
The very glittering
Of starlight.

For thy love wast made
The shapely twisting of
The tree limb.

Sunrise is for thee,
With sunset- showing forth
Thy own Son.

O wonder! Thou art the shape
Of every God-shapen work!
And his own true likeness.
First of all things
Held within
His heart.
