Guardian Angel

A badly drawn remedy,
Her angel came too late.
His halo was the perfect fit,
His wings could bear the weight.
She was already broken, lying face down in the grass,
Rain dripping down her sides.
He hesitates to come near,
Afraid she is too far gone.
More time just passes by.
With each second a new note rises,
A melody forms in the air, one of a charming rejection.
He refuses to leaver her,
Waiting for her next big disaster,
Maybe he could save her this time around.
His failing attempts will not go unseen,
This angel will keep his wings.
He holds her hand, as if next to the emergency bed.
He will catch her the next time she falls,
If he can bring her up from this hit she has taken.
He will block every blow.
He will bite every bullet.
He will not let this young girl be a faded photograph in a torn leather book.
She is his mission.
And back to the field where she lays,
She cries.
Her angel is by her side.
