Hell Is But A Step From Home

In lacerated lullabies,
Your sonnet still keeps me weak
Like a puppet controlled by strings
For years I've become you're crippled little play thing

Imprisoned for so long,
My skin has conjugated with the chains
Becoming one with the flesh,
The insanity I so gallantly embrace

"Come to the chambers to where I feast"
I say locked away as I desperate for human connection
The trials for prosperity have been thrown to the pit
This is the second death, Gehenna, and I'm eternally living it

This Poems Story

This poem is based on my ex-marriage and how the loss was extremely detrimental to my mentality to the point where I felt like a prisoner in my own head. No matter what I did, I was constantly reminded of the pain without her presence. I literally created my own psychological hell.
