hidden shadows

do I dare leave the life I know for dangers unknown?
do I dare surrender to the night, as I watch all its secrets come to light?
the sun as been a great friend of mine for quite some time
but it seems the moon is calling me out as the stars align and dance about
but why are they happy when they see me...
is it because they know I'm no longer a daywalker, but someone whose bound forever to the night, a shadow version of what I used to be?
or is it because I am now considered part of "the family"?
whatever it is, they need not worry, I'm one of them... end of story
so I'm saying goodbye to all that I know
I'm saying goodbye to my past as I begin again, hidden in the shadows
I may have been born with heartbeat and blood coursing through my veins, making me a warm body, alive and breathing
but I am no more that person I was before
I have been kissed by death, I have become something more!
darkness surrounds me as I embrace its presence
what happens next?
I should think it quite obvious...
time to go home and as I leave it dawns on me what follows
whether it be tonight or tomorrow
I now live on forever hidden in the shadows!
