Honey This Mirror Isn\'t Big Enough For The Two Of Us

You have yet to hear me.
You answer, but you haven’t heard what I’ve said.
We always end up back here, don’t we?
You’re mad, I’m mad. We’re mad.

It’s been twelve years, and you haven’t heard me.
I’m your little experiment, your pity-adopted
Dog that got kicked too much and flinches
During firework shows.

And it doesn’t matter how hard you try
To fix me, because I’ll always be just
Weird enough, perfectly altered,
Never what you need to feel like you’ve done a good job.

It makes you cry, doesn’t it,
Because your vision for me isn’t based on me,
It’s based on who you want me to be, and
Who I can never be, because. That isn’t me.

You’ve never heard me.
You’ve never asked me who I want to be.
I think that’s because you know you’ll hate that person
Just as much as you hate the one in front of you now.

You can cry all you want to.
I don't care how much
You invest yourself in me.
We're not working out.
