How Are You?
Good how bout’ you
The answer to everyone walking by
Why do I care when they don’t even try
What happened to the mind?
It’s like being genuine became a fundamental crime.
How was your weekend they yell
Let’s put in a don’t ask don’t tell
Maybe I’m naive or maybe I’m not
I just can’t let myself become a repetitive robot.
What are you going to have for lunch?
Seriously I might just throw my last punch.
The cycle continues and I’m just as stuck
I need to get out of this but only with a lot of luck.

Have you ever been walking the halls at work, pass by someone, and have a very meaningless conversation? I guess this poem started from the mere senseless “how are you?” questions when no one actually cares to hear the answer but they still ask and we still give them a fake answer to keep going. It’s the society we live in today whether that corporate America or your just typical office job.
