I know, I love
I know the rain
I’ve watched those sorrowful spheres with cone shaped crests
falling; fleeing
a stygian sky strewn with streaks of harrowing hues
diving; splashing
onto brick and stone creations
their safe havens
I know the warmth
I’ve felt the radiant rays of a saffron soaked circle
shining; streaming
down upon flamboyant florals flaunting phlox and mauve
growing; giving
halos that crown each formation
an effervescent ocean
And I love the night
I’ve explored the blanket of unknowns that pause for a scintillant solitaire
gleaming; glowing
upon a dreamless deep draped in droves of darkness
illuminating; revealing
that which most seek to conceal
the wretched real
I’ve watched those sorrowful spheres with cone shaped crests
falling; fleeing
a stygian sky strewn with streaks of harrowing hues
diving; splashing
onto brick and stone creations
their safe havens
I know the warmth
I’ve felt the radiant rays of a saffron soaked circle
shining; streaming
down upon flamboyant florals flaunting phlox and mauve
growing; giving
halos that crown each formation
an effervescent ocean
And I love the night
I’ve explored the blanket of unknowns that pause for a scintillant solitaire
gleaming; glowing
upon a dreamless deep draped in droves of darkness
illuminating; revealing
that which most seek to conceal
the wretched real
