The Choice Is Your’s
to have one leave or to have one taken
Then I watch and wonder who will take cover
when they find that absence has no mend
and once they’re gone how far would I run
how far would I run to reach them
or once they leave how much would I plea
how much would I plea to persuade them
But whether they leave or whether they’re taken
Ill feel they’re absence all the same
And whether I leave or whether I’m taken would the fill to your heart be my name?
For I was a gift you were never inclined to pick
and most would rather choose than be chosen
and because you were chosen as my recipient
it wasn’t a crime to leave me broken

Hi! I really enjoyed your poetry. I think poems with beautiful visuals or illustrations are doing really well online these days and often reach a much wider audience. Even with a small investment, adding artwork to your poems can make them more engaging and shareable. I'm a commission-based artist, and I've been creating custom artwork for about 3 years. I'd love to help bring your poems to life with visuals if you're ever interested. You can reach me anytime via em@il: contact.lilaclines@gm@il.com Ig: _lilac_lines_ I'd be happy to chat!
