I Shall Reside with the Lord

Now I may not believe in religion but my faith in God is strong
Divine intervention guards me against doing anything that's wrong
I've made a few mistakes in my past and my goal is not repeating them
I must move forward with class and not be directed by old emotions
I must think with a clear mind erasing every ounce of doubt
Second guessing myself is a waste of time and that I can do without
Every second is crucial everything must fall into place
The pattern is astronomical every star must align in space
If one key element is out of line then the whole equation is off
I pray my role in God's great design is not all gone and lost
It's so easy to give up on faith on such a devilish planet
Still walking with a grace even though inside I'm brokenhearted
I refuse to let my enemy know that they're piercing my heavenly armour
I'm broken but won't let it show I possess an angelic honor
Through all my pain and struggles there lies an even greater reward
After my earthly suffering and troubles I shall reside with the Lord
