I Soothe

I woke up alone tonight, as I do all nights of late. Your name escaped my lips as I reached out for you in the dark. Yet, you weren't there ... And my heart plummeted as I recalled the truth of when I was awake. I dropped my face into my pillow and sobbed as I called for you, cried for you.. crying out for what was, what will be, and for what isn't.... Patience my heart, I soothed. In time you will reach no more... You will no longer cry out. You will no longer be alone... Be waiting ... to wake to the other half of what is left of you.
