"i Thought"

I thought everything was perfect,
that we were meant to be.
One minute we were happy,
then the next, he set me free.

When I left his house that morning,
I never even thought,
that when I returned that evening,
everything would be lost.

I thought he really cared for me.
But I was such a fool.
He was only using me.
But he played his game so cool.

Now I'm lying in my bed,
so lost and all alone.
While he's with someone else,
Tell me what I done wrong.

I guess I'll never know,
I've asked him for the truth.
But with this he has a problem.
He's been a liar since his youth.

I'm better off without him.
My mind keeps saying so.
But it can't convince my heart.
It will never let him go.
