I\'m Gone
Done being talked to like I’m anything less.
I’m tired of the disrespect cutting me deep,
Tired of crying at night when you’re sound asleep.
I’m tired of giving and getting back pain,
Tired of sunshine while you bring the rain.
Tired of pouring my heart till I’m empty and cold,
Tired of stories that never change, just get old.
I’m tired of spending what I should’ve saved,
Tired of working so hard while you never behaved.
Tired of paying the price for mistakes you repeat,
Tired of losing myself just to keep you complete.
But the worst of it all, the part that won’t fade,
Is the way you treat my son like he’s some kind of shade.
Like he’s a burden, a problem, a weight on my back—
And that’s the moment I knew I was never coming back.
Because my child is my heart, my reason, my light,
And I’ll walk through a storm if it means doing right.
I’ll choose him forever, I’ll choose him with pride,
And anyone who can’t love him won’t stand by my side.
So I’m leaving for good, and I’m closing the door,
Not looking behind me, not hurting no more.
I’m reclaiming my peace, my money, my time,
My spirit, my joy, my power, my prime.
I’m done with the chaos, the lies, and the mess.
I’m choosing my future, my worth, and my yes.
I’m walking away like I always knew I could
I’m leaving for good… and it feels damn good.

This poem is me finally telling the truth out loud — the truth I’ve been swallowing for way too long. It’s the moment I stopped pretending everything was okay and admitted how tired I really am. Tired of disrespect. Tired of giving everything and getting nothing back. Tired of pouring into someone who never poured into me. Every line in this poem is a piece of the weight I’ve been carrying. It’s the money I spent trying to keep peace in a place that never gave me any. It’s the nights I stayed up worrying while he slept like nothing was wrong. It’s the way I kept showing up even when I was running on empty. But the deepest part — the part that still hits me in my chest — is how my son was treated. Because my child is not a problem. He is my heart. My reason. My purpose. And the moment someone makes him feel unwanted, that’s the moment I choose us and walk away. This poem is me choosing myself again. Choosing my child. Choosing peace. Choosing freedom. It’s not a threat. It’s not a warning. It’s a goodbye. It’s me saying: “I’m done being disrespected. I’m done being drained. I’m done shrinking myself to fit into someone else’s comfort.” This poem is my closure. My clarity. My strength on paper. It’s the moment I finally walked away — not broken, not bitter, but free.
