imprisoned by your love

to love me then hate me
to want me then scorn me
to trust me then betray me
to respect me then degrade me
to claim me then deny me
to cry for me only to fight with me
I see the world of lies you created and my heart breaks
to know I cant escape it...
our home is a prison and baby your the warden
you keep me locked away for no one to see
I'm imprisoned by your love baby!

what was once love is now bittersweet sorrow
what was once passion is now destruction
what was once understanding is now condescending
what was once a partnership has now turned into resentment
what was once monogamy is now promiscuity
what was once honesty is now unbearable misery
the beautiful canary sings everyday
yet no one can hear her cries
as always she does so in vain
she's imprisoned by your love babe!

if it were to rain, you'd be bathing in my tears
if there came a storm its because my screams pierced the sky
should get chilly, then we know whom to blame and wont be
because its cold outside...
your anger awakes a sleeping volcano waiting to erupt
at any point in time
we fight almost often on stranger tides!
I could look into the mirror but I would only see
what used to be your love, your heart
is a painful reminder of what once was
and we had from the start
now I see I will never be free
I'm forever imprisoned by your love!
