Insulin

Insulin, give me my insulin
People are screaming for their insulins
I’m probably cursed or is it just life course
Feeling the pain
When you find out your son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
And there’s not remedies
Our system is corrupt, money is pouring
While American children are dying
From hunger and health issues
You can’t imagine the price of Dexcom - still I’m dead calm
But I must speak my mind and hope one day
They will hear me and believe what I say
Ask many mothers and fathers who cannot sleep
When at night the Dexcom beep, beep and beep
Sugar too high sugar to low
Frustrated for your child and you’re scared
You can’t understand this and you’re not prepared
Who knows if suicidal thought is lurking
Deeply in their mind and anxiety takes over
Everything turns sour
But we’ve got to find away to work it together - be tough like leather
Because a family’s strength and love lives forever
The meds are expensive - doctor visits are expensive
Then you deal with carbs, energy and moods - that includes your foods
But the great America cannot save us - and we are getting deeper in debt
Trapped like a fish in a net
