Internet Effect

A brand new day
But the same games to play
Tasks are so banal
The human mind is a canal
A channel into which is poured
Notions that will assimilate for sure
Feigned comfort in repetition
No inclination to listen

Technology has progressed so far
But in the process it left a scar
So estranged from nature
A rebirth seems the only cure
To the indulgences that beguile or bodies
Therefore diminishing our souls
Stifled by false perceptions
And trapped in imagined roles

When did twisted semantics
Replace the beautiful romantics
When did each individual noble savage
Become just a number striving to be average
Break free and it's plain to see
That we are meant to be more than consumers in a store
We perceive ourselves as candid but we're branded
My soul is trapped in a tomb this media vacuum
