Jayme
In the prison, I once knew the true you.
The uniform, the hair, attitude rare,
You hid nothing, your words always so true.
About your safety and others,’ you cared.
The Captain, Lieutenant, Sargent all knew,
The reasons, the dangers, why you were scared.
You protected inmates in your clothes blue.
When one of their behaviors raged and flared.
Deceptive and cunning mal intent grew.
With murderous intent your life not spared.
You tried to call backup, your radio flew.
Lying still, life gone, quietly you stare.
You were my friend, co-worker and my shine.
You are remembered true hero of mine.
