You'll tell me to keep writing
I can't say this anymore simply
These words were never for you
I'll come alive long before the afterlife

The day begins with brand new worlds
Mindful of counting down the days
But relentless in our pursuit of the climb
Noting each thought as it careens outward

We'll brandish new castles and new cliffs
Clutching the journey more than the home
Please don't make me a true leader
Find with me fault before you follow

Even in your dreams I'll keep scrapping
To prove you'll never have to fear me quitting
One by one by one in black and white
Every day I'll show you what we can do

Your breathing never leaves me
More than just a reach or push
The waterfall shows it's heart behind the liquid
I'll be what I was made for with every heartbeat
Until you can join me.
