JUST ANOTHER DAY
A morning with rain; mild or fierce
Or a morning without, hot and warm
And the birds descend, sing and mingle
Or hide away in cold silence.
Then I see a night like the last
Crawling in the day around my torso,
The hunger I escaped or so I thought.
Then I bend and wash but crack and break
Because I've been too strong,
And now must yield on this day
When the sun would shine but not too much,
And only after the rain so each takes turn.
Then I bleed with tears, can't hold the pieces
Too many for ten fingers together
So they fall as I plan within my sweet escape;
There's always one
And as I meet my knees, I could already see how I stand again.
Or a morning without, hot and warm
And the birds descend, sing and mingle
Or hide away in cold silence.
Then I see a night like the last
Crawling in the day around my torso,
The hunger I escaped or so I thought.
Then I bend and wash but crack and break
Because I've been too strong,
And now must yield on this day
When the sun would shine but not too much,
And only after the rain so each takes turn.
Then I bleed with tears, can't hold the pieces
Too many for ten fingers together
So they fall as I plan within my sweet escape;
There's always one
And as I meet my knees, I could already see how I stand again.
This Poems Story
Some days could go either was, you could be standing one minute and breaking down the next.
