L\'essenza Stessa Dell\'amore (The Essence of Love)
L'essenza Stessa Dell'amore(The Essence of Love)
Perhaps love as currency, shall not be spent
surreptitiously
On thee, I have loosed my purse!
My precious time, but none more precious
Than the beating, yearning of the heart
I have sailed with thee in search of seas
In quiet earnest, breathed
Its condense, let to oceans breeze
to fall then where it please
on they brow, thy lips, thy breast?
Who can ever know, that final rest?
where love’s wings, and on what flower
shall it reside, where loves place
is but to bold,
On the deserving soul of its passion’s goal!
Love, thy burden shall not be mute
it conspires with word, pen, and lute
so sing the lark, not be silent
dilute it not, nor be blamed!
for love is curse, yet love cannot be tamed
If a lion, then let thy echo roar
and wake dark continent sleep
fear not arrow, fear not snare
and hunt, and hunt to find thee there
else ever hungry in league
with thy demon despair!
Shall I be a fool? Then play me my hand
And let reward either stand, or fall
but let me not, cast it toward its object sweet?
then I have never loved at all

From the Author to its Recipient: The intent of this poem was to convey a deep and passionate care for you and what our relationship means to me. It emphasizes the value of love, its shared experiences and intimacy, the uncertainty of its ultimate outcome, the necessity of expressing it boldly, and the courage required to pursue it despite potential risks. The poem speaks of the willingness to embrace the vulnerability and risks of love, believing that not doing so would mean never having truly loved at all… In mere words, this is what I am trying to communicate (to you): Love should never be given lightly, and with you, I have given all my heart and time, the most precious gifts I possess. Our shared moments and experiences are like a voyage on uncharted seas, where the gentle ocean breeze has touched your brow, your lips, and your heart. We cannot predict where love will lead us or where it will finally rest. But I know it belongs with the soul deserving of my passion, and that soul is you. Love should never be silent or hidden. It must be sung and celebrated with words, music, and actions. Just as a lion\'s roar cannot be tamed, my care for you is fierce and undeniable. I am willing to face any challenge, to hunt tirelessly for you, even if it means confronting despair. I might in the end, be just a fool in love, but I would rather risk everything than not express my feelings for you. Not taking this chance would mean never having loved at all, and that is something I cannot bear.?
