My Love For Coffee

Coffee my love
You motivate me

Your aroma at day break
Arouses my mind
It opens my eyes
and brings awareness to time

So I hop out of bed
and to the kitchen I flee
The place you sit waiting for me

Ritualistically from the pot
to my favorite mug I pour
But know it’s you in it
that I adore

You warm up my hands
and it feels nice
Reminds me I am happy
you’re in my life

This is when we just sit and I sip
as you reassure me that I’m okay
And I’ve got what it takes
To take on the day
