My Restless Hunger
To halt this restless hunger in my gut,
It would take a lifetime for it to subside.
This hunger for your heart,
For the look in your eyes.
I'd eat every apple,
Then plant it's seeds.
Nothing to fill this void,
Nothing that I can eat.
Like a vulture with bones stuck in its beak,
Like a lion with flesh lodged in its teeth.
My restless hunger will never be satisfied,
As long as I am breathing and alive,
So I will indulge forever,
Until my body has withered and my restless hunger tethered.
It would take a lifetime for it to subside.
This hunger for your heart,
For the look in your eyes.
I'd eat every apple,
Then plant it's seeds.
Nothing to fill this void,
Nothing that I can eat.
Like a vulture with bones stuck in its beak,
Like a lion with flesh lodged in its teeth.
My restless hunger will never be satisfied,
As long as I am breathing and alive,
So I will indulge forever,
Until my body has withered and my restless hunger tethered.
