My Soul Secured
Tomorrow, when I wake, o God,
Will my soul still be saved,
Safe and secure
In thy hands above,
Not abandoned by your great love?
Who am I that still you hear my cries
And have kept me from a death
I should have died?
Given me grace, love, and mercy;
Shown your great compassion to me,
The most unworthy.
Not a second in your courts
should I be allowed in.
But in your great mercy,
You gave me awareness of my sin,
Led me to faith and repentance,
And welcomed me in.
Though, I know, I should have been smote
On the spot;
My redemption,
The lamb's blood, bought.
My purpose now to glorify
And trust in my king,
For an eternal reward will it bring.
My hope and life
Then made sure;
He has said he would keep me.
In Him, I have this faith,
That whether through life or death,
In Christ, I gain;
My soul forever saved.
Will my soul still be saved,
Safe and secure
In thy hands above,
Not abandoned by your great love?
Who am I that still you hear my cries
And have kept me from a death
I should have died?
Given me grace, love, and mercy;
Shown your great compassion to me,
The most unworthy.
Not a second in your courts
should I be allowed in.
But in your great mercy,
You gave me awareness of my sin,
Led me to faith and repentance,
And welcomed me in.
Though, I know, I should have been smote
On the spot;
My redemption,
The lamb's blood, bought.
My purpose now to glorify
And trust in my king,
For an eternal reward will it bring.
My hope and life
Then made sure;
He has said he would keep me.
In Him, I have this faith,
That whether through life or death,
In Christ, I gain;
My soul forever saved.
