Nightmare or Dream

The eyes I see when I sleep
The ones that glow in the night sky like fireflies
The ones I thought I would forget soon after you said your goodbyes
But, I was wrong
Because I still hear that song you used to sing
Still see those eyes when I dream
They crowd me like a group of wolves always looking for food.
I know I said my goodbyes and I know you did too
But, I still wonder if i'll ever forget you
You promised to me there was a whole world to see as big as the sun
but, now you're gone before I had the chance to see what lies beyond.
I hate to see the pain in my tears
I hate seeing your smile in my nightmares;
The ones where I can still hear you sing as you lull me to sleep
Now you may say it's just a dream
But, how can you judge me if you've never seen what I've seen
Through thick and thin, Dark and light.
From the thudding in my ears
To the regret in my tears
Laying in my bed hoping, wishing
That it all was in my head
Lie to yourself
Lie to me
We both know we hope it will all disappear.
Light hanging from a tree, sinking deep in the sea
Hoping for a way out but, there's no land in reach.
