wishing on shooting stars

I don't like crying
And I never will.

Water from our Eyes are bitter pills.

Why are you ignoring me
All I want to see is your smile.

You kick me out
Go walk a mile.

My legs hurt
My lungs burn
You don't really care.

Why look me in my eyes
And lie to my face
When It's the blood I taste.

On the tip of my tongue
I want to say it out loud.

I smile on the outside
Cry on the inside
Wont show you don't ask
It's the one thing I hide behind a mask.

Don't cry
Don't say goodbye
Don't leave me here with the lights out
And the door locked because
I wont survive.

If you love me
Don't make second think
Don't let me walk away.

I love you more than you'll ever know
But, some things are hard to show.

So I lay here talking to the sky
watching a shooting star fly by.

I close my eyes to make a wish
And i'll never tell you what I think
Because one day you'll walk away.

Hi! I really enjoyed your poetry. I think poems with beautiful visuals or illustrations are doing really well online these days and often reach a much wider audience. Even with a small investment, adding artwork to your poems can make them more engaging and shareable. I'm a commission-based artist, and I've been creating custom artwork for about 3 years. I'd love to help bring your poems to life with visuals if you're ever interested. You can reach me anytime via em@il: contact.lilaclines@gm@il.com Ig: _lilac_lines_ I'd be happy to chat!
