when it falls, where it lies
they are only happy that it won't be buzzing around anymore.
Some by strips of sticky tape
to hang in the den, or near the drapes
some by a swatter from a dollar store
purchase two, for free you get one more!
Quality time on "family swat night."
Or if your father's a bigger spender
he could get a backyard bug light!
The fly lives only to survive
his time is too short to plan a life
he takes only what he needs before he dies,
tries to plant his seed
for the next to grow
two to ten days is all they'll ever know.
No family to tell them "good-bye"
