On the Wings of Angels

Your name is gently echoed,
Through the whispers in the wind,
And all my pain consumes me,
As my heart bleeds from within.
For you were but a child,
When God had called you home,
Leaving those who loved you,
To mourn our grief alone.
And often times, I’m forced to wonder,
If God is truly just.
For fathers whom truly love,
Would not have taken you from us.
And so my grief has taught me,
Pain grows stronger through the years,
My agony builds and screams,
Finding peace within my tears.
How many times I wonder,
If you were here today,
Would I have the strength to say
All I’d want to say?
What were your hopes and dreams
That you’d never live to see?
I wonder many times
What kind of man you’d grow to be.
But your precious time upon
This earth had come too soon,
And when you left you took a piece
Of me away with you.
The hollow hole within my heart,
Where you memory dwells
Is a sad reminder
Of the bond that we once held.
For this pain I’m forced to keep
And never let it go,
For the pain holds memories
Of the brother I’ll never know.
