“Prefect”

What is me if not prefect
You see prefect is something I will always try to be
How you are broken inside but do not seem
The human eye can’t see all the pain it takes to be
How you grow this second person
Not quite a voice but personality
Though I show up to school with my hair done
And cloths wrinkle free
I get straight A’s and are in honor clubs
I’m the girl you ask to help you study
Before that big test coming up
I am also that person you talk to about boys
I am that person you always sit by in class
How you invite me to your house just to relax
This person I am always trying to be
Prefect it may seem
Do you even really know me
Without this person I am not just ordinary
Because I’m lower then that
I don’t live in a house with a white picket fence
Or have two loving parents that are married and happy
So you see I am far from ordinary
I play pretend in my imagination
Nothing is real but it all feels so realistic
The way you are proud, never disappointed of me
This is why I seem perfect to you but never to me
