Prisms Shared Alone

Light refracting through crystals
on white walls
such a distraction
as sunset falls
through lace curtains
the intricate patterns
pay close attention to
all that I've lost through
the years as I steer my
way clear of the clutter
I stifle a yawn and putter about
as moths start to flutter
around the flame
such a shame
the day had to end
and again, the light bends
into beautiful rainbows
on stark white walls
bedtime calls

The only thing missing is you
