Real You

Hiding behind a guise
a smile
or a frown turned upside down,
No emotion can be hindered
no intricate thought found.
A life of fiction
facts buried away,
Further from reality
each and every day.
Perpetrator of fraud
a picture of a thousand lies,
Sharing the real you
means a secrets tragic demise.
A path to nowhere
a road that never ends,
As long as the unknowing
pretend to be your friends.
Sharing the real you
means your ever so soft cheeks
have felt tears,
A frown turned upside down
is all of your hidden fears.
Beyond the pictures the stories
the places you have been,
There is a real you
just realize you no longer have to pretend.
