Rock is dead

By A.J.M

Rock is dead: all covered in cherry red.
The towns’ roll and swing are gone,
Don’t worry as it’s only gone for so long.

A young-rockin’ boy was found dead in a lake.
News came around and people cried for his sake.
Little did they know that the boy played his drums
At a concert before his untimely death.
[His beat and tempos are all he left]

A young-rockin’ boy was found dead in a hotel room.
Radio stations announced and listeners pondered in gloom.
Little did they know that the boy played his guitar
At a concert before his untimely death.
[His rift and chords are all he left]

A young-rockin’ boy was found dead in a tube.
Sirens roared and civilians ran to the hub.
Little did they know that the boy played his keyboard
At a concert before his untimely death
[His rhythm and melodies are all he left]

A young-rockin’ boy was found dead in a bed.
Televisions informed and viewers clasped in dread.
Little did they know that the boy sang his voice
At a concert before his untimely death.
[His soul and words are all he left]

After their death,
Everyone believed that rock was dead.
The towns’ roll and swing were considered gone
But do not worry as it’s only gone for so long.

This Poems Story

This poem is my interpretation of the idea of how ‘Rock is dead’; basically I just heard a phrase in my head which said, “Rock is dead: all covered in cherry red. The towns’ roll and swing are gone, but don’t worry as it’s only gone for so long.”
