Sad Moon, I know that you're lonely in the night sky.
I understand 'cause we're a lot alike, you and I.
Someday, I'll keep you company when I learn to fly.
Hopefully, I'll figure it out before I die.
Just like me, you're surrounded by stars that shine so bright.
You try to shine yourself but you don't have your own light.
When people look at you, they don't have to shield their sight.
I come alive but people are afraid of the night.
They try to find your dark side but there is none to be found.
You need the attention from those you revolve around.
I hear you Sad Moon though you don't make a sound.
I want to be there for you but I'm stuck on the ground.
We are the blue backdrop to other people kissing.
You influence great things but people still don't listen.
You feel whole but you know that parts of you are still missing.
We both have our phases but we keep on wishing.
You'll always be stuck being someone else's shadow.
I reach out to touch you when I see you're hanging low.
You're not alone. I hope that's something you always know.
You're overlooked because people are way too shallow.
I know it hurts that you're neither loved or hated.
Paradise seems so far. I probably won't make it.
However, your constant beauty keeps me elated.
