Same Old Gods

a fragile state to have an affair in
the long hand reaching away
posturing and prostrating
to serve a function of recording
facts and figures
the fact of the figures in the port
over the depths, through the waves
they're slaves to gold
with gold and slaves
me on the shore revering the moon
a vision of Isis lifts her skirt
invites me in
a rose colored passageway
a way from myself
the drums of trance in the distant sky
my rhythm the same

killing time, the measurement of life
in a series of astral projections
a pyramid scheme sans finance
the scales of dragons weigh your diamonds
my diamonds are invaluable, but immaterial
