Sleepless

Just as leaves are sure to change in the Fall
So is the moon to fade and make way for morning
The fog preceding the sun has promised to come
But seems late on arrival
Now the world is dark and quiet
Yet silence screams in violent tones
Afraid of the dark? Never!
But the stars have never been a companion of Day
Soon morning's gold will come
Just to be chased down by the green of noon
But now not even the birds sing
And terrified I am of thoughts that haunt in the night
