Soulless Friend

By GEO

Drinking to fit in when
your young,
feeling good just for fun.
As you get older you fill
that glass,
not realizing you do it
to cover your past.
A problem comes up you take a sip.
The glass becomes a soulless friend for you
to hide behind when
blue or sick.
The more you have your
friend with you,
the more you change but
don't have a clue.
You think that no one cares for you,
But really they all want to
help you.
Your friend starts to lie
and tells you don't listen,
take a sip and feel yourself glissen.
Your glass never leaves you,
but all that matters disappears around you.
Your mind starts to go,
your sinking in this
endless dark hole.
Your friend is soulless and
hurtful to you,
it's killing you through and through.
Open your eyes and see
how much more you are
to be.
Too sad to die this way,
as you realize the glass
was a cover up for an
unspeakable past.
