Summer

I have been gliding through the summer air
I have swam through the soft and glic’ning lakes
The wind caressed my skin and tugged my hair
I pushed the peddles, gave it all it takes
I saw the sparkling stars upon the sky
The grass between my toes sways in the breeze
I coasted down the hill and I could fly
The stunning sunset brought me to my knees
The warmth of sunshine seeps into my skin
We sang the songs that only we would know
My cold iced tea stays fresh within its tin
Among these peaceful days we knew no foe
I walk forever with the stars of night
We play pretend in the low evening light.
