Teardrops & Me
Wipe thy teardrops if thou will;
Thine eyes have teardrops running still.
And thy teardrops fall like rain
As symbols of thy Joy and Pain.
See thy teardrops falling down;
All thy teardrops on the ground...
... teardrops of Joy and those of Blue,
thy teardrops commeth old and new.
Oh thy teardrops,
so fast and plenty;
Thine eyes like barrels
for teardrops many.
Falling sure thy teardrops be-
Together thy fall thy tears and me.
Thine eyes have teardrops running still.
And thy teardrops fall like rain
As symbols of thy Joy and Pain.
See thy teardrops falling down;
All thy teardrops on the ground...
... teardrops of Joy and those of Blue,
thy teardrops commeth old and new.
Oh thy teardrops,
so fast and plenty;
Thine eyes like barrels
for teardrops many.
Falling sure thy teardrops be-
Together thy fall thy tears and me.

nice use of archaic language to give the poem a timeless, almost biblical, tone
