The Big Trip
It's really one big room, this universe of ours,Life curtaining certain vanishings and fragments of its walls,
and that only feebly, 'though surely, eventually them all.
As for life, in some ways it glimpses itself in distorted bits,
But just enough to show evolution
As outlines of a glorious process: ingenious, talented,
Infinitely surpassing merely purposive
All the way out to inevitability.
Since time is confined to only things in finite motion,
Stoppable we may be assured of infinity
Which, then assured of any possible meanings,
Achieve purely bared, unfathomable ineffability.
