The Cemetery

The day is done, and so am I, so meet me on the other side
I find no solace here, among the mossy stones
I find no solace here amidst decaying bones
my solitude reflected back at me, beneath the falling leaves
fills me with the longing just to lie beneath these trees

The day is done and so am i, and yet i still must wonder why
i find no solace here, where people come to cry
i find no solace here, where dead ones come to lie
my lonely soul, will remain whole, and shine to warm the breeze
while longing for eternity to put my woes at ease

This Poems Story

this is the confused state of mind of a person who knows they are dying, and while longing for a release from their pain, still fights a battle they will inevitably lose. on the one hand, they don\'t actually want to go, and they state that no solace can be found for them amid the tombs, but on the other hand, they state the longing they do feel to lie down and forget the pain.
