The Hard Road to Salvation
If a rocky, but spiritual road led to a wounded dwelling
I'd find falsehoods in the mystic mappings
Would rather get lost amongst my trifle excuses
than face the innocent I have betrayed
But I must drown my shame
and give air to an act of contrition
Fear not the ramification of my sins
but unburden my soul to those I love
I must not be eager when I ask for mercy
For forgiveness comes in many silhouettes
and cannot be hurried
May those injured be noble over the harsh winds of time
Maybe then, the broken bonds with those I cherish will be mended
I'd find falsehoods in the mystic mappings
Would rather get lost amongst my trifle excuses
than face the innocent I have betrayed
But I must drown my shame
and give air to an act of contrition
Fear not the ramification of my sins
but unburden my soul to those I love
I must not be eager when I ask for mercy
For forgiveness comes in many silhouettes
and cannot be hurried
May those injured be noble over the harsh winds of time
Maybe then, the broken bonds with those I cherish will be mended
