The Journey

A sliver of light broke through the darkness
The path was wide as I began my ascent
The smells and sights of daybreak distract me as the footpath narrows
The heavy dew of uncertainty clung to to the rocky edge
Slipping towards the abyss on the side of the trail
I focus on the rising sun as the morning sounds diminish
The sun blinds me as the trail disappears
My heart must become my compass as I continue my journey
